Alon have you considered the Carlsson EVO Daimond Editions in 18s (Subman's wheels) They are a ok deal.

Hi-Power I agree, if you are going with an open wheel design on the W124s, making the brake system look decent is a must!

The Quad exhaust on the Modified 300CE look real nice! Custom maybe? They give the rear an aggressive symetrical look!

Well the concensus on benzsport and here appear to be the same, most thinkt he carlsson 1/6. So ther eyou have it. Thanks for helping me make up my mind. I do like how the carlssons look. I am going to get them with the kuhmo ecsta 712 tires in 225/45/17 the correct rolling diameter as my current 205/55/16 tires.

I will have the fenders rolled if need be.

Alon

Yes 124 looks good on solid wheels,Like yours

I spoke to luke today,a nd we discussed it, and I have already made the decision. I'll be ordering them in a few days!!!!

$1485 roughly out the door, mounted, blanaced and shipped.

Now do I keep the carlsson center badges, or get the new silver/chrome mercedes ones. I think I want to go for the silver /chrome mb ones. But I dont mind the carlsson ones..

I should be able to get the silver/chrome ones from the mb dealer or fastlane for a good price. I shouldn't have to spent more than $50 for them.

Be ready for some new pics soon, My control arms are at the mechanic, and he is starting on installing them.

I leve for 2 days and look what happened.
You will be very happy with the 1/6 I am sure. But if you have any more money pop for some better tires, I have the Kuhmos and I would have gotten better tires if I were to do it again.
You may also want to ask Luke about the offset, remember Clauser had a problem with the 1/6 he got, he had to send them back for a different wheel (AMGs if I am not mistaken).
Glad to here eveything is working out.

Based on price and comparison to the Bridgestone RE730s and the Michelin pilot sports, the kuhmos are almost identical in ratings and the reviews I have read are very favorable.

I'm not a tear up the road kind of driver. I like to know I can go fast, and I like the car to feel like it can got hrough the twisties like they are straight.

to me the extra cost for a tire that is almost identical in ratings, is not worth it.

I can save $200 which is halfway to new rear shocks and front struts in bilstein sports.

Remember Is till have to get a new front bumper. I am looking at getting just a bodykit instead, otherwise I'm glueing that broken sucker back togeter, sanding, priming and painting it and hoping it looks decent enough. I figure $20 on painting supplies, shoudl work, and I have this plastic glue that is like a 2 part epoxy called plastic weld. it bonds to plastic and really sticks.

All in all, I'm going to love the end results.

and since these will be my first performance tire on the car and the first time driving it with 17" wheels, I should be satisifed with them. If not, I can always change the tires later for different ones.

If it turns out that I like the tires, then I will buy them again when the time comes.

I'm in los angeles, no need for wet traction here anyway, it doesn't raint hat much.

My usual speed in my car that I drive is around 45 in town and 80 on freeways, basically the speed of traffic.

My local tire shops are a rip off compared to tire rack. And I mean literally. The place my dad got his wheels and tires from wanted over $2k for AMG CL wheels and michelin pilot sports. The money I save, goes towards shocks or the bodykit.

I'm going to not get the bodykti right away, I'm going to see if I can jsut get the front bumper first, then paint it and install it and enjoy it. then get the rest of the kit in a month or two.

Alon
