Cool Tire Suggestion 2003 SL

I just got a 2003 SL and I need to get tires put on it. I need a good winter or all season tire because eventually winter will show up here in the Northeast US. My local tire distributor is quick to recommend things, but I am looking for some impartial suggestions. Thanks!

I, personally, use Bridgestone Blizzak snow tires. Grew up in a mountain town in Colorado and always had a set of summer and snow tires. In my opinion they performed very well, especially in storms with 25"+ of snow. I have also done ice racing with the tires and they performed very well. People recommend Pirelli Winter Sottozero as a good alternative too, but I have never had the need to test out another snow tire besides Blizzak since they have performed so well for me. Some people will say they're best in the snow, but you lose a bit on dry ground. I have never really felt this way about the tire. Personally, they have proven to me year after year how well they keep my car in control in winter conditions. Check out the tire rack snow tire comparison article here. It's a pretty good read about how the different tires performed in their tests. The Sottozero and Blizzak tires are part of it. Good luck!

Thank you so much for the recommendation! I will check out the link you posted right now. Around here people do more all season, but I am from Vermont and we always had a summer set and a winter set.
