Ok so this is my first time ever on any car forum. I'm not a car savvy guy to say the least, but I'll give it a go.
I think, I need a new wheel bearing. maybe even a new 'hub'...? I'm not for sure, and do not want to go to a mechanic to charge me an arm and a leg to tell me what I think I may already know. originally, I was getting a kind of whale like sound in the front passenger side when I was on the highway and turning, now there is just a constant "ssccrrwwww" sound. kind of like worn brake hitting metal, but my brakes are ok. any help or guidance on how to first, identify the problem for sure myself, and second, the best way to go about doing the work. thanks! |

Did you check your brake pads and rotors? Sounds like metal on metal contact.

sometimes a rock will get between the brake shield and rotor, and will rub.Check your wheels too after driving for heat.I had a rear wheel that was hot,do to a sticking caliper.
