Wheel/tire weights and true demensions are available for the asking thru most manufacturers.
SCCA also usually does a yearly article on racing rims and tires too...testing new technology stuff and tried and true staple equipment for road racing, auto-x and rally...forget finding this type of info in any regular car mag. Willie, I've contemplated the SL 2-piece rim for my 500E...the rears at 10" run about a grand while Evos are a quarter of that price...I got the Evos but the 2-piece SL rims can fit and look sweet (seen one with them)...but need a certain tire shoulder profile I believe to work without problems. The 2-piece is obviously lighter and would need a lighter tire to complement them...go for it. |

Neil, Willie
You guys find out how much the 2-piece AMGs weigh in at? I also heard that they were unusually heavy . Super-styling though. BTW, BBS CH Motorsport 17" rims weighed in at 21 lbs....another one of my choices for the street....a bit lighter than most others. |

Cool Willie, I also put a call into my dude so I'll find out later today or tommorrow on the 17" x 10" AMG Composite rears...is that what you were looking at or the 18" set? My guess is that they're lighter but not by a whole lot...we'll see. I'm not planning on doing more than 1 or 2 track events so weight isn't too important on this car but I still don't want lead sneakers at all 4 corners...ya' know.
FWIW, Bridgestone S-03 tires are about the heaviest tire out there...glad I found out before I bought a set. What tires you considering?...just curious. |

AMG SL 2pc
Jim, called the place and they did confirm the fact that the above AMG rims have been discontinued.
Dean, having seen that JAuto website before, now all we need is someone that can speak Japanese to order from them! Those rims do look great, though. |

AMG Composite rims weights
Well, those AMG wheels weigh 22 lbs front and 26 lbs. rear....not heavy but not light either. I can get them new.
If only those 18" EvoIIs were available stateside...they look sharp. |

Are you sure?...35 lbs is awfully light with tires. AMG Styling II at 18" 2-piece jobbers....got a photo? And did they work out OK in the rear? No rolling of the fender?
Haven't yet found out the weights w/o tires on those myself...but I will. |

Its not my car, But again IM not 100% sure if it was 35lbs..or maby 45...not sure but yah his car is dropped with h&r kit..his front: is 245/40/18 and the rear is 275/35/18 Michaline Piolet Sport...all i know is that he pays over $650 for the rear tires and like $500 or so for the front...

For those who care
Aparently, AMG Composite Styling II rims at 18" are for show only and are not lightwieght....33.8 lbs for the front at 8.5" and 34.1 lbs for the rear rim at 10" wide. With tires that easily puts them over 50 lbs. per corner.
Extreme...your boy needs to buy tires from someone else...shoot...I'll sell him some tires. Willie, e-mail me if you want to talk more on them. |

EVO 2 17x8.25 weighs 25.5 lb without tires. AMG Monoblock 2 17x7.5 weighs 45 lb with tires. Hope this helps!
