Ashman.....those 8-hole...16" are they the same found on the W124 or the last generation C-class?

I always thought the 16" 8-hole could only be found from Germany vs from here

thanks for any insight,

Ren

16" 8 hole was found ont he SL320/500/600 and on the 500E/E500.

It was a 16x8 et34.

In europe they had a 16x7 or 16x7.5 version of this wheel on the 400e.

Several of these wheels as far as I know were only available in europe until recently.

What I noticed is that several of these wheels have the word "cast" in their name. Would that imply then that all of the wheels which are *not* so described are forged units, rather than cast?

I think all of the wheels are cast, not forged, even though they say it or not.

I had my 95 o.e. 8 hole wheels refinished, and they commented that the wheels were cast.

Forged wheels, I was told, are incredibly expensive, and very few wheels these days are forged.

I believe reading once that Porsche wheels are forged.

$11.00 something each total ws around $45.00 for 4, that included the tax I paid.

PArt number is listed in my pics section, and they can be ordered formt he dealer using those part numbers.

The 16x8 8-hole wheels on the 500E (and presumably on the R129 cars) is described in the MB product literature as a forged wheel. There was an earlier thread in which someone posted a scan of the relevant pages.

The identical wheel (at least by appearance) appears in the catalog here.

W124 260E question

hi guys,

Would the 16x8 8-hole wheel fit my car? It's lowered so do you think it will rub?

If not, should i search for the 7.5?

By the way, the porsche rims are forged. The ones that came standard on the early 911, considered one of the strongest wheels out there...

thanks,

sjsfiji
