Will these fit on a 95 E320 Wagone, W124
I am interested in swapping tires and rims from my 1995 E320 Wagon to my 87 300TD, same chasis, different brakes, but I think it should work. I found these rims for a 1999 E320 16 x 7.5 original 10 hole Wheels and was thinking of putting them on my 95. Would they work? How will the car drive and handle with the 16" rims? Also any comments on how it would look. The W124 seem to have under filled wheel wells. Any comments would be helpful. I assume if the 99 E320 rims fit on the 95 they will fit on the 87 also.

Most likely they will fit.
What's the offset. The proper offset (ET) for a 16x7.5 wheel on a W124 (excluding 500E/E500) should be in the range of 41mm and 35mm. I prefer an ET of 37. :-) neil 1988 360TE AMG 1993 500E |

I am interested by your preference on offset. Why do you prefer one over the other? I always thought that each car was designed for a specific offset. Thanks for your insight, I have alwasy run the rims that came with the car and have never given much thought to the difference that offset has.

There's usually a range of offsets that work well.
Even the W124 with the 15-hole wheels came in two offset, 49mm and 48mm. Manufactures usually pick an offset that covers a broad range. I have tried both 16x7.5 ET 35, 37, and 41. The 35 had the wheel a little to outside of the fender, but still acceptable. The 41 brought the wheel really inside, but you couldn't run 225 without rubbing inside. The 37 was just right. :-) neil 1988 360TE AMG 1993 500E BTW: 16x8 ET34 or ET35 is just too wide for anything but a 500E/E500. |

Neil, on a seperate subject, I noticed in your signature the 88 360TE AMG. Tell me a little about it. It must be great fun to drive.

The E320 wheel will bolt right up w/o any problem, that is assuming that the profile is correct on the tire.
