That is not just the wheel from the E420. It is the wheel from all W124 Limiteds in 1995. The E300D also has it on all '95s (regardless of whether or not it is a limited). I personally think it looks like ****. Buy the 8-hole in 15" x 7J (Sportline). 15" works well on the W124. If you wanted 16", I'd look at some of the AMG wheels.

Also, if the car is lowered you MUST stick with 205/55/16.

I like them...I think its a matter of taste. I have been looking for a set for a while now but all I see is replicas or expensive refinishes If I am going to spend that much on a refinished product I might as well buy a brand new aftermarket wheel from OZ or somebody or throw in some extra cash for some AMGs. If anybody here has a good set for sale let me know.

FA22:
I have those wheels on my '88 300TE and think they look great. Further, I've received many many compliments so think they match the styling of the car well. However, I installed 16 X 7.5" rims. I'll send a picture to you if you'd like to decide for yourself. If you like them, it's a great way to save almost $300 per wheel vs. AMG! ------------------ Best regards, Michael '92 500E '88 300TE |

Michael:
Are yours original or rep's? If they are replicas i'd like to see a picture if it's not to much trouble. Thanks, yal 88 230E (W124) |

The wheels on my wagon are Mille Miglia "Star", I believe. They are replicas of the E420 wheel, but lack the OE polished lip. I didn't want to pay the extra $200ish a wheel...call me cheap.
I'm not clear on how to post a photo, so I'll pass a few pics along to those interested. Also, I highly recommend clicking thru to TireRack, then going to Wheelrack and pulling up your car. It's a great tool, and can help narrow your choices. Also, a big benefit to Wheelrack is that (IMHO) color's a big factor, and Wheelrack lets you select the color of the vehicle. If my wagon were other than Appliance White then I would have likely gone with a different wheel, like 16" OE-look 8-holers (my preference on darker W124s). And always remember-pick a wheel that's easy to clean!!! ------------------ Best regards, Michael '92 500E '88 300TE |
