Does anyone know if there is anyway that I could fit 16" wheels from a 1998 E class on my '82 380SL? These are the ten hole design with 215/55/R16 tires. I really like these wheels if I can make them fit with spacers or whatever.

Yes, you can fit 16" with 215 or 225 tyres provided you install 6mm spacers (attached pick) and use original bolt lugs for that wheel as your original 14" wheel bolts are too short. The need for the spacers is because of the 35 offset of the wheels the inside of the tyre will rub against the steering ball-joint rubber sleeve. You may need also to attache a ruber block 10mm on the full-lock steering stop on the lower suspension arms to prevent rubbing on the sway bar on full lock. Not a great loss on the full circle, hardly noticeable. You wont need extra long bolts with 6mm spacers but the originals for the 16" wheels.
