hi everybody...sorry i know this has been posted before, but with all the conflicting responses i need to know once and for all what size i need...i am going to run 17x8.5 rims on my 1989 300e (w124)...the offset of the rims are 35mm....what is the maximum and minimum tire size i can run on this setup without rolling the fenders, given consideration that i also plan to drop the car with eibachs?...also, what if i do roll the fenders? thanks alot for all the help. it has proved invaluable and time saving to say the least...

I would not recommend the 17x8.5 wheel with a 35mm offset it will give your car a widetrack look and possibly cause clearance problems. Even AMG doesn't use an 8.5" wheel on your car. As far as the question posed, the 215/45-17 would be the best size for your car. The 225/45-17 would be a tight fit.
