directional tires and full sized spare
Okay, the last time I ordered assymetric or directional tires, I ordered four, on the logic that an assymetric spare was only good for one side of the car. Just got 5 B-stones (RE950s) delivered (thanks Tirerack) and discover they are directional.
What do the rest of you running these tires do for an spare? Can you run a directional tire against its intended rotation for any long period of time? Tirerack folks???

If you are planning on using the spare only for a spare and not add it to the regular rotation, I wouldn't worry about it. If you run it backwards it won't hurt anything unless you are on a wet road, it will have less traction.
If you just put it on the ground when you have a flat and then put it back in the trunk as soon as the flat is fixed, you'll be fine. Good luck, |

thanks larry
I would guess they might be louder. But as long as the tire doesn't unravel, I'll use it as a spare.
I guess my age is showing, have been through a dozen or more cars since my teens, and only encountered directionals in the last year, a set for my son's 240Z, and these for the wife. Have to try not to get her nervous, maybe just won't tell her.
