You MUST go see Gone in Sixty Seconds. Best movie with cars ever. And guess what brand is the main feature of the movie? You guessed it. The best. MB.

That was an awesome movie...the only thing was...did any of you guys have a close look at the list of cars they had to steal? On the board, it said "959"...I think it was referring to the Porsche 959...where the hell do you steal a Porsche 959? Outta Bill Gates garage?

They stole cars off a police lot. Gates's compound wouldn't have been a problem. Grin.

Very good movie....ranks up there with Ronin. (towing an M5 with a 500E gotta love it!) My only pick at 60 seconds is the "laser cut keys" have been around for quite some time. 98'MY got the totally infrared in place of the traditional metal ingot. Guess they can't let the masses know too much about our beloved cars?! j/k Still, helluva movie. Certainly a "must see" for any self respecting car nut. Even if you dont' like action, just go to see the cars...

It is a good movie. However, I think they didn't spend enough time on the cars. Really, all those cars could've resulted in more chases and high speed scenes. They stole the Jag from the guy's driveway (when he was having fun ) but it just drove away. That was a missed opportunity right there. And what about the Porsche vs Honda? Couldn't they have extended that race a bit more? Ronin's still the best.

Wasn't the car that they stole while the guy was "having fun" a purple Lamborghini Diablo VT? They did show a Jaguar XJ220 bein' loaded at the docks though...

Have any of you guys seen the movie "Taxi" ??
It's a French movie directed by Luc Besson (Fifth Element). This is the mother of all car race movies...but the only problem with this movie is that the "three-pointed-star"
gets whipped by a Peugeot...

I think the movie "Taxi" was mentioned on this forum a while back...and the overall feedback by members was that it was pretty mediocre...maybe it will be better if the 500E's won...he he

Okay movie, but would have been great if they had a 6.3 or a 500E in it :-)

Re Taxi and the Peugeots winning out over the MBs. Peugeot makes some beautiful automobiles. My wife has an '83 Peugeot 604 (purchased new in Paris) in our garage parked beside my '83 300D and my SL. The Peugeot body is by PininFarina, I hate to admit it but it rides and drives better than the 300 and has more room, and better fuel mileage. My wife now has 600,000 + miles on it and this week she again refused the opportunity to replace it with an MB.

It's a good movie but somehow I expected more... If only they could have more exotics in action...

Happy motoring,

ET
