Unhappy new wheel problems on 140

I put new wheels on my S 320 and the factory lugs must hve been too long I think when I ran them in I must have damaged something behind rear brake rotor. I changed the lugs to shorter ones but I still have a noise back there when I move the car, Does anybody know whats behind the rotor and if I damaged anything important?

Thanks

Mike

If I understand correctly that is where the parking brake is. Like a little drum brake. try to use your parking brake. ......Where did you get the longer wheel studs?????? I am looking for longer than stock wheel studs for my car.
