SLK wheels on 1989 300e?
I recently purchased and installed a set of 16x8 slk wheels with 225/50/16 Bridgestone Ptoenza z rated tires for my 1989 300e. Two wheels are ET30 and the other two are ET37. I put the 37s up front and the 30s on the back. I have experienced rubbing with the rears when i go up a short rise in teh road and come back down quickly like a small short hill or prolonged bump. It seems as though that when the rear suspension is unloaded (getting to the top of a hill) and gets loaded quickly (going down a short distance then levelling out) the rear tires rub the fender. Can I stop this by switching the 37s to the rear and the 30s to the front? I havent had any problems with the fronts rubbing even though the tire does stick out from the wheel well (except for the strut dust shield thingy but that was easy to fix). What should I do? Should these work without rubbing and if so what is my problem? Shocks/struts? Springs? Any help would eb greatly appreciated.
Thanks. brockley
