Will the O.Z F1 fit on the 1992 400E? While waiting for Shane to get my tires in stock, I've been considering whether to go for the DTM racing look rather than the AMG look. Will the O.Z survive street driving?

Ray,
I'm sorry to say that the OZ F1 wheels do not fit your vehicle.
Thanks,
Luke

Hey Luke,

So the OZ F1 Cup (Carbon Grey w/ Yellow Lettering), won't fit a '95 E420? Can you recommend any other wheels that have the anthracite/black look...

Hey Duck,

Try this link http://www.rimstock.com/wheels/wheels/wheels.htm and take a look at the "Motorsport" wheel. Keep clicking the pic of the wheel until you get to the anthricite one. They look very similar to the O.Z. Racing F1 Cup.

Other wheels made by them that are availible are the "Monza" and the "Rim2000".

Then go here http://www.rimstock.com/fitment-guide/merc.htm to see if the wheel you chose fits your car, chances are it will. Diameters range from 15 to 18.

Good Luck. Paul

Thanx PJozefiak, but those wheels look like they overdo the yellow word stuff...

Wut I am thinkin' of doing is to make my car ALL black...since my car is already black pearl/black...if I get my wheels in anthracite...it will match the black pearl of my car...I don't know about the grey bottom plastic panel though...I dunno if painting it black will look so good...

Has anybody around here w/ black/black cars tried for the ALL black/stealth look???

Duck: Those words on the TeamDynamic rims are optional. I have the 18" Monzas in white on my dub and when I ordered it I asked for the whole sticker treatment and thats when I found out that they were a $$$ option.
Hope this helps some.

Nokia8860,
Thanks for the clarification. I thought that was mentioned on the site. They also have two different "levels" of the yellow graphics, one that turns almost the entire rim yellow, and one that looks very similar to the O.Z. you are refering to. Sorry for not being clear.

Duck,
I have tried, on 2 occasions, to go with an all black, or stealth look as you call it, on vehicles with very dissapointing results.
Here's what I've learned:

If you put black wheels on a car, make sure the wheels have a silver lip around the outside. Otherwise, your eye can't precieve where the wheel stops and the tire starts. This optical illusion can cause 18's to look like 15's and unfortunately it never happens the other way around. Very discouraging when you have just spent thousands on a wheel and tire package.
Second, Black wheels look OK on several different color cars, unfortunately, black is not one of them. For some reason this also creates an optical illusion and for reasons I can't explain monochrome in black looks terrible. Think about all the car magazines you have read. When the monochrome look was huge, did you ever see any feature car done in monoblack. I think the biggest reason is because there is no contrast and black by itself has no "pop".
Lastly, to address your original post, Luke was refering to the O.Z. F1, not the F1 Cup. Two completely different wheels. The good news: The F1 Cup does indeed fit your car even though tirerack's site doesn't show it. The bad news: they are only available for your application in 15 and 16 inch diameters. Try this link http://www.oz-racing.de/ , click the "programme" button, then click "Mercedes". The F1 Cup is a nice design in anthracite because the yellow lettering does the same thing a silver lip would do as mentioned above, it breaks up all that black for your eye. Good luck with your project. Paul
