shift knob

Does anyone have a newer style shift knob (with MB star in the center)or know where to get one-besides the dealer. I have a 94 C280 and would like to upgrade.

Is it true that the shift lever itself has to be switched out also?

The bottom piece turns/twist to unlock. It is hard, but it will come loss. I have replaced mine twice.

The 1994 C280 still has the old style shifter. Yes, you will have to cut the current shift knob or buy an adapter piece to fit the new style shift knobs.

I have a barely used wood shift knob with the MB logo for sale for $40 if you are interested...

Regards,

Don

Mac10,

I just went with the old style shifter.

This is the shifter that I'm selling:

It's in used condition but looks pretty nice. I'm asking $40 plus shipping. Let me know, if you're interested.

Regards,

Don

You can buy the adapter piece for the newer shift knobs from www.************************

You have to call them up or get a catalog from them in order to find and purchase the item. I did it to my W124 and now I can fit any of the new knobs.
