Well after speaking with the almighty tire king, Luke at Tire Rack, I have decided on the Bridgestone Turanza Revos for my '80 300SD. He highly recommended them over the Michelin Energy MXV4 (which I previously had, and liked), and said that the Bridgestones have the highest wet traction rating possible--that really sold me. Not to mention the fact that they are quieter than the Michelins and the price is a little nicer too at $71 a pop for the Revos versus $90 each for the MXV4s. I ordered them today and will let you all know how they are--especially on sustained Autobahning runs between Cleveland and Cincinnati. If they hold up at speed as well as the Michelins did, I will be extremely impressed. While I'm writing this, I might as well ask if anyone out there has the Brigestone Revos on their car and how do you like them?

P.S.--I was also seriously considering the Michelin Rain Force, but I noticed it was an all-season tire rather than a grand touring tire and the Michelin was only T rated, while the Revo is H rated---something I need!!

Aaron, I'm curious. How did you like your Bridgestones versus MXV4? Thanks for your input.

Lube,

I haven't received them yet from Tire Rack. I'll let you all know how they come out just as soon as they're mounted, balanced, and have gotten some sustained Autobahn cruising behind them.
