What is the highest offset I can run with a 7" wide wheel on a 420 SEL W126

Trying to determine my wheel options.... doesnt look like there is much out there. I'm trying to determine what fits.....

I dont really want to go the spacer route unless I absolutely have too.....

Also you subtract the width of the spacer from the offset to get the new effective offset right?

Thanks in advance,

George

I would say 30-32 ET backspace. Yes, you subtract the width of the spacer from the offset of your rim. Example, wheel is 45 ET (mm) offset. Spacer is 20mm so the new wheels offset is 25 ET.
Hope that helps,
Dan

You mention CLK rims on your 90 300SE

Are they a direct bolt on, or did you have to use spacers etc to get them to work?

Thanks in advance,
George

They do work with 205MM wide tires but it looks funny. I use 15mm spacers.

CLK wheels - off ebay?

Hey Dan,

Did you buy those CLK wheels on ebay? If so, I think I was bidding against you at the time.
