What exactly is a "fender roll"?

Just curious because this looks like what I am going to have to get done. Do they just roll the lip under the fender? Or do they actually reshape or pull out the fender itself. What is the typical price for this to be done? Im trying to price it out so I can approach the body shop and not get ripped off.

rolling typically means modifying the lip (edge) to make additional clearance for bigger tires. i have never heard of modifying the exterior, but im sure its been done.

example: before= I_ tire, after= I/ tire, or L to V

What's the typical cost of doing this? Is there any special machinery involved?

OK Ive called every body shop in my area and no one has even the slightest clue what fender rolling is. I try and explain it to them and they say that they have never heard of it before.

Sheesh I cant even find a body shop to do it. Anyone know what the price of getting this done should be?

This is a Custom Car procedure - so body shops that just do wreck & collision repair are not likely to perform. Try Auto Customizer, Auto Restore places and Custom Wheel Shops.

Yeah, ive had the same problem. All the body shops talk about just cutting the lip off. Is there a downside to this or is it the same as rolling it?
