Unhappy C280 To 190 wheel change lug bolt PROBLEM

I have been given a set of wheels off of a C280, they are 15" as are my old wheels. I KNOW I need longer lug bolts, but I have tried the lug bolts from a 420SEL, but they are too short as well. Can somebody help me here? First post in wheels and tires, I spend most of my time in the other sections.

THANKS for your help and support.

Mike

I have a 99 C280 and had a 91 190E. I just took off one of my lug bolts and found that it is identical to the one from the 190E. Both of them are 15 in wheels. The offset on the C280 is 37mm and the offset on the 190E is 49 if that helps you any.
