I saw some wheels for sale. the ad indicates they are off a 1996 C230. Was there a 230 in 96 or was it a 220. Anyway, they are 15x7 but will the offsets be the same. I think the stock tire size in 1996 were 195,s but the 1998 c230 has 205's.

yes, the OE wheels will work but, why .... the '96 wheels are 15x6.5 and the '98 OE wheels are 15x7

Thanks luke. my reason for possibly buying them is because i bought the car in december and had some snows mounted on the stock 98 rims for the winter. I was considering getting some rims for just the winter tires so i can just mount the wheels myself and pay the one time cost for the wheels instead of paying for removing the summer tires and mounting the snows every year. Any problem in mounting the stock 98 tire size which were 205 to the slightly thinner 1996 wheel?

205 should be fine on the 6.5" wheels. - benton
