Hey guys,
I saw a set of Yokohama AVS Sport's mounted on a BMW M3 (E36). The look of the tires was wonderful. However, I am wonderin' about the handling and performance of these tires. Thanx. ------------------ 1995 Mercedes-Benz E420 (W124 - Black Pearl/Black) |

They are great. A notch below the S02PP and Pilot Sport, but definitely the 3rd place tire. They are pretty cheap too.

The pwerformance of the tire is exceptional but, they do wear rather fast compared to the pilot sports.

I've got 245/45/17s on 17x8.25 on a 500E. Granted, I've got a few suspension mods, but I haven't broken these things loose yet (for those of you who know, for instance, I'm up to 60mph on the Fremont Street off ramp from the San Franciso Bay Bridge). I expected a much harsher ride when I switched to larger diameter rims, but it didn't really materalize (this may be due, however, to the overall 500E suspension, and not so much the tires –– who knows?). There is a little bit of road noise which is more prominent on uneven surfaces and nearly disappears on really smooth surfaces.

I have the AVS Sport for over a year and its performance never ceased to impress me. The tires still look new so wear is not a problem. Definitly buy again.

I normally buy Michelins, but got a deal on a set of these Yokohamas. I put them on my 93 Taurus SHO and never regretted it. The perfomance is excellent in both wet and dry conditions, and the wear is similar to the Michelins.
I will definately buy these tires again! ------------------ William 76 240D (W115) - 550K miles 78 300D (W123) - 200K+ miles |
