ml rims on 300e w124

I would like to know if the ML rims would be fit in the 300 E W124 year 86 and what do you think about the size of 225 60 16 on it

nope

ML rims will not fit a w124. They are 16x8 with a high offset in the ML320 form. Also proper tire size for a 16" would be 205/55/16 or 225/50/16.

If you really want an aggressive size wheel for your 300E w124 then look for 16x7.5 with et of 41. If you like the seven spoke look then find a set of SLK rims staggered 16x7 front and 16x8 rear will fit the 300E.

they will not work ..... as mentioned about the offset there are also hardware issues since the ML uses 14mm lug hardware

E DREAM-

What size tires for the 7 spoke slk wheels? I have the 16x7 et37 fronts and 16x8 et30 rears with 225/50/16 all around and they rub under load going over bumps. I am looking ot have some 215/55/16 tires put on this weekend and am hoping htey work without rubbing as per Luke's advice but I was wondering if you had personal experience with those wheels on a w124.
Thanks.

You had 7 spoke wheels with ET41? How is that possible? Or do you have other wheels? If so I was askign about the 7 spoke slk wheels since you suggested them to someoen else.
Thanks.

SLK Rims

The SLK rims are 16x7 front and 16x8 rear. Tires are Toyo Proxes 205 50 16 all four corners. No rubbing issues at all. The tires also fit very well on the staggered rims.

So theres no problem with the fender lip on the 8 inch wide wheels being exposed? If so Ill see if the 215/55s fit if not Ill be getting some 205/55s

when i bought my SLK rims they had the 205 55 16 tires on front and the 225 50 16 tires on rear. They were WAY TOO BIG for my 190E sheet metal. Dont know about 55 series tires on 300E, seems large to me but I prefer the low profile look. the 205 50 16 looked great on the 7-spoke rims on the 300E IMO. just my $.02

The 215/55 is a little taller than stock but newer e-classes have that as stock and there have been many posts as to 215/55/16s being the best size for 8 inch wide wheels on w124. My slk wheels have 225/50/16 all around and there is rubbing when hitting bumps at high speed or under load (passengers in back seat). I am getting the 215s put on tomorrow afternoon so Ill post the results. With the current tires, the 7 inch wide wheels rub if they are put in the back because the tires are too wide so hopefully one size narrower will get the job done.
