I have an opportunity to purchase a set of 16 X 8 wheels from a MBZ ML 1999 SUV with a standard MB 5 X 112mm bolt pattern with a 50mm offset. Can anyone give the correct spacer size need for the wheels to fit a 89 190E 2.6 and possibly a source?
Thanks |

Trust Me, I have a 99 ML 430 and a 93 190E 2.6, its something I wouldn't consider doing. If you were to use a 16x8 i would recommend an ET of low to mid 30s. To go from an ET of 51 to 31, I would say u need a 20mm spacer, which means your lug bolts need an aditional 20 mm of space. Having bolts that long, would be weaker then a bolt that is shorter because there is more flex built into the longer bolt. IT really shouldn't be that big of a deal, but your bolts wouldn't be as reliable, and just imagine what a loose wheel would be like, and you will understand the concern for caution. MY recommendation, I purchased 16x7 SLK rims for $480 a set from AAA Rims. Or even cheaper is TireRack which is 16x7.5 8-hole replicas. Your choice, I put 215/50/16 rubber cause it perfectly matches the stock 185/65/15 size, and gives me a good wide tire at a cheap price ($62/a tire) and its a V-rated UHPAS tire too. My long $.02 again

Chirag,
How about an ET40 offset on a 98 ML320? Would there be anyflex or spacer needed? Tried them on and looks good, just did not drive the truck(need bigger tires) |

Na, I grew up in Newark, DE actually. But I go to school here in George Washington University in DC. Pretty Close by to you.
As for he ML320, I think I answered this question bye email, but for the tires I would consider 285/50/18 instead of the 255/55/18 because you get more rubber down on the road. ------------------ Chirag (Charlie) Patel - 99 Mercedes-Benz ML 430 V8 w/custom TV, Video, UHF, speaker system - 93 190E 2.6 (4-sale) w/ an amp, equalizer, and CD-changer, integrated w. stock stereo for integrated cellular phone speaker system - had a 93 190E m103 3.2, 5-speed trans, - had a 88 300E 2.6 - had a 84 300TD w/275k+ miles - 2002 S500/S600 - Maybe in a little more then a year |

Where can I purchase spacers and the appropriate lugs? And will the vehicle be safe to drive? Its just a daily and touring car, no high proformance. And I don't want the car to look "thrashy" but more factory. These are my concerns. Thanks for your help.
