Kleen wheels?

Anyone one have Kleen wheels ? Do you like them and do they keep your wheels clean from brake dust? Some people say that it leads to overheating of the brakes, any comments?

Kleen Wheels

yes I have them and they do keep the dust down, I have not noticed any overheating..I think they are worth the money, not 100% dust free, but it helps..

Ditto on what was just said. If the vents are turned the right way I don't see any reason that they would overheat. If you get them, make sure they are still in there and are turned the right way after you get new tires, they love to leave thm out.

Bought them and decided not to use them.

One of the first things I did after purchasing my CD was to refinish the wheels. I didn't use the kleen wheels because I had heard all the negative stuff about the heat and what not. I regret it. My wheels still look excellent, but there are pin spots where the dust burned into the finish. Even if the kleen wheels warped both rotors, it would be less expensive to replace them then to refinish the wheels, and that's doing it yourself. An even greater difference would exist if you had them refinished by someone else.

The warped rotors myth is annoying. If you drive very aggressively on the street and use your brakes hard and often, Kleen Wheels are not for you. Very few MB owners drive like this. Under normal driving, they won't cause any problems with rotors, pads, or overheating brakes. But please remove them before going to the track or autox!

I use the Kleen Wheel thingies on mine. It stops about 90% of the brake dust. I think the stories about warped rotors and such are mostly baloney, at least on 123's. The earlier 123's mostly had steel wheels. The alloy wheels didn't really start until about 1980 or so. It seems to me like the geometry of the Kleen Wheel disks is similar to the geometry of the old steel wheels, that is, they would block the airflow near the calipers in pretty much the same way. I don't think I would put Kleen Wheels on an SL or other sporty model likely to be driven hard, but I don't think they cause any problems on 123's or similar cars.

Are these for the '91 350SDL? I'd be interested, but dunno if they'd fit my 123...

kleen wheels

I purchased them last week for my 126 it has 15 inch wheels. They are in an unopened package. I am unsure what other cars they would fit. I purchased from this website.
