Could staggered wheel set on SL500 cause the ASR to engage all the time?

1996 SL500. Ive got OEM AMG's on it. Front are 18.5 with 245/40/R18 and rears are 19.5 with 275/35/R18. Tires are Michellin Pilots, except the front right which is a Michellin Pilot All Season. Ive been meaning to call tirerack and order a pair of new Michellins for the front so they all match, but havent had the time.

Sometimes when I drive and take a turn the ASR achtung exclamation point will go on, indicating a slip, but if I keep my foot on the accelerator it will stay in "slip" mode, with the exclamation mark flashing and the throttle cutting back. It will only snap out of slip mode if I let go of the accelerator. It only does this a couple of times a week, but its quite annoying. Keep in mind the ASR light itself never goes on, just the exclamation mark light.

with the sizes you mentioned the staggered wheels and tires would not cause your problem but, the differences in rolling resistance between the 2 different types of tires could cause the problem or, you may be spinning the tires when cornering

Luke, so that all season is probably throwing it off. I was hoping to get away with not replacing it, and my shop said to really align it correctly I would have to replace both fronts, sigh. Expect my call in the next week to order 2 front Michellins. What do I have to look at to EXACTLY match what I have on there now?
