Basic 500E tire question

Greetings,

I am looking at a set of autocross tires for my 500E. The size is 225-50-16. While I belive these will be fine on the stock 8 hole, 16" wheels, are they ok under stress for this car?

Autocross/track days are a good probability with these.

Please advise,

Dave

PS. Yokohama's

the 225/50-16 will have the proper load capacity for your car so, they will be able to live up to that much stress

Autocross-specific tire?

Is the tire specifically for autocrossing (which I take to mean it'll heat up really quick) or road courses too? 2 very different activities, so I'd think an autocross tire might not be able to take 30+ minutes of flogging on a road course. Can anyone fill me/the board in on this? Thanks in advance (and Dave - see you on the track!)

hmmm

The tires are actually 2 @ 225/50/16 on 2 @ 205/50/16.

I guess the smaller tires were on the front?

Will this set up work on the 500E stock wheels?

Any advice on staggering 'small' tires?

205 front .... 225 rear ....

can you say HORRENDOUS UNDERSTEER !!!!. Not to mention lack of proper load capacity ... do not use those tires on the 500E

Autocross tires

Hi Luke,

I need tires.

What would you recommend?

I have been researching the Yoko's and they seem ok (I would get the 'H'?)

Any benefit from the plus 1's in 17"? (of course I would need new wheels, but it is only money)

What would be best for the 500E....the autocross courses are short. only about 50-52 seconds....

Thanks,

Dave
