Conti ExtremeContact v. Sumitomo HTR+ v. Michelin Pilot A/S

Luke, I think we (I) would love to see a review or comparison on these 3. I think all 3 of those are available in 225/45/17 if that makes it easy. Let me know if this is in the works.

If not, give me your impressions. From my gathering, It seems like the Conti is #1 in snow out of them, #1 in rain, and only the dry grip is surpassed by the Pilot A/S. Any how, would love to see you give them your rankings.

Thanks...

I dunno how I missed that one...

So in your opinions, do you think you see the Conti somewhere close to those numbers. Where do you think it will surpass or be weaker then the others (mainly the HTR and Pliot A/S)

Thanks Luke.

I think the Conti's are slightly better than the HTR+ but know where near the Pilot's

For an all season tire the Michelin A/S Sport is an excellent tire. I know a lot of people who like the MXV4’s tires, but when I compared them to the Pilots, the A/S Pilot is a much better tire, far superior in the wet. Some of the Michelin tires have a harsh ride but the Michelin A/S Sport is an excellent riding tire, and has excellent handling characteristic for an a/s tire. Concerning snow capabilities, it’s a very good snow tire; I was really amazed how well these tires performed in the snow. And as all directional tires and due to aggressive tread design these tires are bit nosier, but not at all annoying, the 124 body is noted for tire noise.

It’s not a summer hi performance sport tire, but as indicated in Luke’s tire test it performs very well. It’s the best all season tire I’ve driven; it’s just so costly, the Michelin cost twice as much as the Sumitomo HTR+ Ultra High Performance All-Season, and 70% more the Pirelli P7000 SuperSport Ultra High A/S, so is the Michelin worth the price?
Luke in your tire test, why not add a cost category comparison rating factor in the tire reviews, when comparing these three tires the cost factor may put the Michelin in third place computing performance factor to cost factor.
Enjoy your drive, timreid
