I just purchased a set of Signum (Intra) rims from Bekkers. They are 7.5 x 17 et35. What is the maximum size width i.e. 215, 225 etc can be fitted without major modifications to the fenders? I've been considering the PZeros 205/45 R17 tires that Tirerack is selling.

Well, I would get fenders rolled, which isn't a major body job at all. The widest I have heard with no rubbing are 235/40/17, but that is such a tight squeeze (also requires 17x8) and its the luck of a draw, changing tires in the same sized cause one guy rubbing problems. I would say 225/40/17 (only Nitto has a tire in this size) or 215/40/17.

I'd recommedn the Dunlop SP Sport 9000 for $159 (on sale). As for the Nitto, they are alright tires, just you have to get them from u know who (discount tire) and its not a big price difference. I think you'd be better off with the Dunlops anyways.

You can use a 215/45/17 if your car hasnt been lowered. If your car is lowered, you have to go with a 215/40 because the 45 will rub in front fender. You can also try getting a dremel or other tool and do a litttle grinding at the metal lip on the front outer fender well just under the turn signal. This is where it is going to rub. Good Luck, Joe
