My '83 240D has 185s on it. I've been told I could move up to a 195.Is that O.K.? How about size 205???

I think you could move up to 195/70/14's easily. However unless you have the wider rims (300D's) the 205's might look kinda funny!

The Service manual calls for 185/70/14's for the 240D the Service Manual also calls for 195/70/14's for the 300TD I have 205/70/14's on my 300TD and I like the way it looks. So you should be able to go to 195'a without any problem. See what they say at the tire store about 205's for your rims.
