Hi,
The MXV4 Energy Plus tyre is not available in Australia for w123 with standard 14 inch steel wheels (195/70HR14). The only two kinds available here are the MXTE and the MXV3a. Which of these tyres do people prefer and why? Also, does anyone know if there are any significant improvements in the MXV4 Energy Plus? Are we missing out that much?! Thanks in advance, David Rayment. ------------------ 1984 300D 235000 kms Sydney, Australia. |

I'm not familiar with the MXE, but I believe the MXV3a is a predecessor to the MXV4, now "Energy MXV4 Plus". As for how much of what is missing...hard to say. You could be pretty sure that the MXV4 has all the latest technological advances and as such gives you the best ride, handling, fuel economy, durability, etc. Assuming your keeping the stock wheel size the MXV3a sounds like your best bet. If your looking for more in-depth technical spec differences you should give Tirerack a click or call. Their professionals will be able to tell you far more about the evolutionary differences.
Hope this helps...Lee |
