My family would like to know which tires they ought to get for their car. It has 16" rims, and is currently wearing Dunlop SP8000s (I think...), what they want are tires with good wet traction (no snow, just rain), but are still handle relatively well on dry surfaces. Any info is appreciated

Here is my experience with the following tires from best to last. Keep in mind that last does not mean bad. Every one of these tires are more than acceptable.

Wet: Yokohama AVS Sport; Yokohama A520; Dunlop SP9000; Michelin Pilot XGT Z4; Dunlop D60A2; and Dunlop SP8000.

Dry: Yokohama AVS Sport; Yokohama A520; Dunlop SP8000; Dunlop SP9000; Michelin Pilot XGT Z4; and Dunlop D60A2.

Even though the A520 performs very well, it has a lousy ride and is very, very noisy. I would not recommend this tire.

For the same money the AVS Sport far out perform the SP9000 and the XGT Z4 in both wet and dry. I own three sets of the AVS Sport and is totally satisfy with them. Good luck.

take a serious look at the Potenza RE730's. They are a very good performing tire at a good price.
Thanks, luke

Thanks for the replies guys, we've sort of settled on Bridgestone Potenza SO-2 Pole Positions... anything to say about this tire?

I like the Michelin better (Pilot Sport).
