what is the widest wheel one can put on the W123 chassis?
Hello to all.
I have a Q. What is the widest wheel one can put on the W123 chassis, more specific an '83 300TD-T stationwagen? The stock size is 6x14 but I would like to mount 7,7.5 or 8 with 225/45/17 tires. Would any of these sizes fit? And what would the off set be? Thank you. Louis. |

I have 17x8 ET28 AMG AERO I wheels which fit absolutely perfectly on my w123 coupe with 235/45/zr17 michelin pilot sport A/S tires. It is a lot of rubber to turn, so maybe 225/45/17 would be better. You can see pictures in my website below, Ive had 18s on my car too, but I didnt like the ride.

Hi Austin.
Thank you for the reply. By the way it looks on your site, you have run quite a few different rims on the your coupe. Is the fitment of your present rims with or without spacers? I would like to avoid using them at all cost. Thanks. Louis. |
