I have the Yokohamas on my Chevy Silverado pick-up and they are great in the rain but are terrible in any kind of snow. I know you get plenty of snow in Avon CT. My aunt & uncle used to live there.

Are you recommending a T rated tire for a W140 car?? Your site , and Michelins site, shows the Hydro-edge to be built only in a T rating. Have they come out with a better speed rated tire in the Hydro-edge?

Actually, I didn't see a W140 in your signature list of vehicles and just looked for the best wear warranty in a 235/60-16

Thanks. I was looking at tires for the 560SL and liked the wear rating of the Hydro-edge.But its only a T rating. I don't need or desige High performance. I don't drive the car much above 90MPH at any time. So wear is the number 1 factor for me. I had a set of Michelin X-ones on my 300TD. I got 70,000 miles out of them and was very happy with them. But the rating is not good enough for the SL. I decided to take the Michelins, XGT's off my Daughters SDL. They had only 3000 miles on them and we're donating the car to a charity soon. I had the MXV's from the SL put on the SDL.
I hope they can come out with a H or V rating in a 70-80,000 mile tire.

the Continental Premier Contact has both an "H" speed rating and an 80,000 mile warranty ..... it is a premium Grand Touring tire which offers great ride quality and pretty good handling

tires for my W140, 600

I replaced the wore out Uniroyale Rain tyres (only sold in europe) on my recently imported euro model 600 W140, mid 1990s, with Kumho Tires KH11 ECSTA , 235/60/16 (factory size).
They handle great, corner/break great, look good, and about $300 installed for these big tires. Love'm
