wheel size for 300sd

I just realized my '84 MB300SD has 205 tires on 15" wheels, although this car is supposed to have 195 tires on 14" wheels. Is this ok? The car runs great. I'd appreciate any feedback.

My 83 300SD also has 205/70-15 tires. When I noticed that other records say the standard size for this car should be 195/70-15, I started looking at others on the road. All the 300SDs I've found have the same 205 size tires.

So I've wondered whether the documentation was wrong or what.

My response was in error. My 300SD has 205/70-14 tires on 14" wheels. The issue to which I was responding was that the books seem to think our cars have 195 size tires when all the ones I've seen have 205. The wheel size I've seen is 14" .

My 83 300SD has 205 70 R14's too. It originally had the 195's but Hatch and Sons recommended the 205's for better ride quality and look. I was very happy with this set up and am about to purchase new 205's again (Bridgestones this time, as MXV4's aren't making this size now).

If Hatch and Sons tell me it's ok, I'm on it!!
