SLK tires

I have recently replaced the front tires on my 99 SLK 230 as after
20000 miles they were badly worn on the inside. The tires are Yokohama Avid 205/55 R 16. Does anyone have an idea about better wear on different tires. There was a new alignment. The
tire are directional.
