Can't find a tire rack at TireRack!
Hello all,
I am looking for a storage solution to get 8 to 10 mounted tires off my garage floor and onto the wall. It seems the TireRack does not sell "tire racks". :-) Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this type of system? I would even mount 3 racks that hold 4 tires each. Any help/comments appreciated. Thanks, Dave |

A few years ago I saw a ceiling-mounted wheel storage rack that was so simple, you could make it yourself....
It consisted of two steel tubes welded to a central square steel post that was topped with a flat plate. The plate was bolted to your ceiling joists (like an upside-down T) and you could slide you spare rims onto the tubes, a couple on each side.

Dave,
I saw this tire shelf advertised in the last issue of Grassroots Motorsports mag: http://www.tireshelf.com The prices seem ok ($99, $109, $119), but shipping may prove expensive. I'm in the same boat as you with 4 mounted sets of tires that need to be tucked away. I'll be interested to hear what you end up with. Jim

Griot's Garage sells a wall-mounted post for 20 bucks which holds 2 mounted tires.
