very confused about w126 wheels

i have a 1987 560SEL with OEM 15" wheels on it. my wife calls my 560 "the other woman". i can get a set of 1995 S500 Coupe OEM wheels, 235/60R16 100H Michelin Tires.
aside from the tires, will the rims fit my car? as in, do i just take my old wheels off and put on the new 16's? after reading all the post about offsets and spacers, etc.... i am very confused.
all i want to do is put on a nice set of 16 inch 8 hole rims wheels.
any simple answer would really help me.

thanx,
rich

you almost certainly can!

probably the easiest way to get a definitive asnwer is found at the top of this page. ie: call luke at tire rack

i know for a fact they carry (or always did) a 16" 8-slot that are very nice and are also VERY reasonably priced.

and TR can supply you the wheel and tire package mounted and balanced shipped to your door ready to bolt on.

ive bought 2 packages from TR over the past 5 years, and have nothing for praise for their operation. (especially the pricing)

Does your car use 12 mm or 14 mm lug bolts? sclass wheels use 14mm. the offset of the sclass wheels of that year I believe is 51 .
Check your present wheels on the back of the wheel for the et # which is the offset I think your wheels mite be around 35.
Hope this helps.

thanx RDANZ. i finally understand the offset thing after reading everything i found on this site. when i re-read your reply, it finally hit home.
so the answer to my question is: NO. my offset is 25mm. a 51mm offset wheel will not fit on a 25mm offset.
thanx again.
