W124 with 17inch rims...Need tire size recommendations???

Hello All,

I currently have 17 x 8.0 on my 300E. My tire size is 215/45/17. I would like to keep the 215/45/17 in the front. Does anyone know how wide i can go in the back to give it a little bit of a staggered look. I have all my fenders rolled and should have no problem with rubbing. I would just like to know what the widest size I can go on the 17 x 8.0 without having any problems. Any feedback is always appreciated.

225/45/17 will work good or you could go 235/45/17, but 225/45/17 is what I would go with, and what I have on my w124 with 17" rims.

Alon is right, I would also advise you to stay with 225/45/17 on the four wheels. Staggered look is nice with a set of staggered wheels... tires won't do that much difference.

But will the 235/45/17 work?

For the rear, they will work fine, on the front they will rub with the fenders.

Hi-Power:

Do you have 225/45/17 tires on the 8*17 Brabus Monoblocks IV (ET30)? Did you roll the fenders?

In my opinion these are the nicest wheels I have seen on a W124 wehicle

I am going to get these myself but I was wondering if I should take 215/45 or 225/45.
