I have not used them on my 140 but I have tried them on other car I have and wasn't impressed and they really wear out fast, I went back to Michelin's which I'm happy with.

My 2 cents

I currently have P6000's on my '96 C220 and find them to be a very "sticky" tire, but that almost always translates into poor mileage....but Pirelli tires have always been know for performance and not longevity. I bought them as a "convenience"... pre-mounted on oem MB wheels at a very good price, so I can't complain. I do believe though, that the added weight of the W140 would make the wear factor ever worse. On the other side of the postings, I had Kumho 716 Ecsta HP4's put on my '92 500SEL a couple of months ago and I must say that I am VERY impressed with them.....even on such a behemouth of a vehicle! They are quieter than the Michelins that were on it previously and the handling hasn't suffered. They are H-rated, so even lower speed performance is more than adequate. But then if someone who is out to show off a name (Michelin comes to mind) and a Z speed rating, they can certainly spend the $150+ per tire!

I have the Pirelli p 6000's on my 400E and would rate them average.

The wear on them I find is good, I've had mine on for 25k miles and they still have about 10k miles in tread life left, that's good considering how I drive. The traction on the other hand is very poor, my car breaks away from the pavement very easily.

This is probally very rare, but the tread on one of my tires is separating from the tire. It can be pulled up and all the steel belts can be seen

Yeah, I hear that Kuhmo's are the best value in tires. I was going to buy some but I got a very good deal on some Yokohama's.

I have P6000 on my 140. they are GREAT.

I switch from Michelins which I was having problem when conering at high speed.

with the P6000, I have no problems at all and even in wet conditions, my ABS do not come on at all.... with my old tyres, my ABS will come on during wet everytime when I go downhill
