Dunlop Sp Sport A2

7,000 miles ago, i replaced michelin energy mxv4+ with these dunlops.

before i did that, i put a post up on this site and the responses i received trashed the dunlops.

i didn't pay attention. and i am glad that i took that position.

i have to tell you, so far, outstanding tires. quiet. predictable. great in the wet. great in the dry. outstanding braking. have transformed my 1997 S500C[c140].

they may only last 20,000 miles, but so what? they were half the price of the michelins that were the worst michelin shoes that i have ever encountered. noisy. horrible braking. lousy and unpredictable handling in the wet or dry.

they are also quieter than the yoko avs db2's that i run on my 1987 560sec.

and by the way, i run my cars at close to 100 or more whenever i run houston's rent-a-bahn. i would say that my tires get used more like tires in germany than would be the situation in most of north america.

a review that i want you to digest.

all the best.

Thanks for the tip. I'll put these on my list when I replace my MXV4's.

I hope they come in a 195 / 65, 15".

18 months ago, back when I had a Dodge Neon Sport Coupe 5-speed (not a bad car for the price), I needed to replace the Goodyear Eagle RS/A tires that were on the car. The RS/A came on the car when new and I put RS/A on again at 40,000 and 80,000 miles. The car was almost to 120,000 miles and I was looking to sell it, so I wanted less expensive tires that were good enough for me until the car sold. I think the Dunlop Sport A2 tires were very good for the price. I drove on them for about 3,000 miles. I can't say they were the equal of the RS/A, but they were darn close. I sold that car and got my '94 E420. Nice upgrade!

Thanks. I'll very soon shop for tires for my 88 300ce, on which the PO put Falken Ziex 502s, which have excellent grip. I'm also considering Bridgestone 950s, & now I will also consider the Dunlops.
