yes very familiar with this.
The fluid tends to pool in the area where the latch rests , and will leak out into the interior compartment after driving around.
The latch is fairly easy to replace.
Just take off the top cover above the sun visors to access the latch.
Undo the clip holding the hydraulic line on, then unbolt the latch and bolt the new one on.
of course clean up any residual fluid while the latch is out.
paper towels wick the fluid up pretty good, and some strategically sprayed brake kleen does not hurt , just keep a rag handy.
Do not kink the hydraulic line.
