It will look more normal once you get the rubber in place, but yes they do stick out a tad....mine did also, but unfortunately the 1st gen sideskirts don't work with the updated side cladding. Tough decision, but I decided on the cladding over sideskirts.

Make sure you have the underside mounted to the body also, not just the top. They should mold nicely in place.
