Oh, and to add to the thread- a good alternative for a nice high performance tire are the Hankook Ventus Evo K12 (or whatever they are)
I came off a set of Pilot Sports and for daily street use the Hankooks are quieter, smoother and have a very similar feel. I got them at Discount tire and a $100 rebate. Spent less than $500 installed
I drive between LV and PHX at high speeds it makes the drive so much quieter and nicer.
Disregard this if you track the car however. Pilot Sports have superior feel and hold better under extended use.
