Hey guys, thanks for the replies. So this is what happened today

battery is good, actually its about a month old.. had it checked just to be sure and its got the right amperage.

jumped the two prongs on the solenoid, no good. It tries to spin slowly but not enough to turn the engine over.

read up on the possible neutral safety switch but its definately not that, since the starter will try to spin when i turn the key..

it looks like a bad starter. By looking at the bolts and the starter itself, it looks like its still the original unit...

Before I changed out the glow plugs yesterday, I kept cranking it over and over again when it wouldnt fire..Would doing that ruin a possibly 29 year old starter?
