The twang came from the passenger side going over a speed bump. The passenger side was rotated perfectly to fit the lower grove so no idea how I got the twang .....

Thanks Tom for the info. 20mm reduction should help. I emailed Erik at ProPigSkins and asked him if I can cut the springs without an issue. I need to figure out how to remove that rubber - steel cable jacket / cover deal before I chop off an inch.
