Is the scrap yard my choice?

Seems the heat shield in the 1995 E420 is missing.

I'm told this is the plastic that goes up to the hood, and wraps behind the air filters.

Seems like it would be the first thing to take out before doing general engine work.

Well, I just learned it is missing, and that with the heat shield engine heat will stay out of my air intake for the climate control.

Yes, the air seems to flow over the engine, and into the air intake - leading to warm air being sucked in my interior.

Your suggestions please.
V8 cars are out there
A salvage yard may have it - but not many W124
