The device on the windshield (about 1" sq) connects to your phone via bluetooth. I had to down load an app from State Farm. The app will display all the info it tracks and asign a score. This app tracks 4 things, acceleration, braking, turns (not sure what that is. May be G force?) and phone usage.

The app will also track the the route (displayed on a google map) time and distance.
