I am pretty sure that the engine called in for big trouble was the 350SD, and that the 300 is fine. Call MBUSA (go to
http://www.mbusa.com for the phone number and get them to fax you the recall or update sheet for this model. Also, try and speak with the mechanic who has looked after this car and see what they say.
