Oh...IMHO, I think the Climate control problems are systemic problems on a lot of MBZ's of that era in general, not just with the SDL.
I just think it's a way over complicated design in an effort to be totally auto-controlled. Electro-mechanical-temperature-vacume controlled POS. Just try an trouble-shoot it sometime.
Other than that, again IMHO, the SDL (my '86) has been an extremely reliable car. Haven't had any of the horror happenings as of yet.
And, oh yeah----just to stay on topic, --- still a lot of room in the back seat. So they tell me, as I seldom ever ride back there.
