I have put 5W30 in for the winter. Plugged in my block heater. Put a very long extension cord in the trunk. Glow twice before starting on really cold days. This has worked well for me. I also have some D starter spray in the trunk for an emergency. I have never used it. I don't want to find myself stuck somewhere in an emergency and blow my engine up. Has anyone used fluid to start their car with no damage. Can you do this without disconnecting the glow plugs?

Nice thread
